They are listed in full below.
Credibility and reach are close to uncorrelated in this field. The people running the trials, directing the institutes and holding the editorial positions are, with a few exceptions, not the people most readers have heard of. That gap is the most useful thing to understand about who to trust here, and it is why a ranking built on capital, science and execution produces a different list from a ranking built on followers.

How credibility was assessed
Scientific credibility in the Longevity 100 is scored on peer-reviewed output, institutional standing, replication record and recognition by other scientists. It is one of five criteria, alongside capital power, strategic influence, original impact and public profile.
This page is the scientist cohort of that ranking, in composite order. It is not a re-scoring on credibility alone, and a researcher placed lower here is not less credible than one placed higher — the composite rewards capital and convening power, which many excellent scientists neither have nor want. What the list does identify reliably is the population whose standing is grounded in published work and institutional position rather than in reach.
Why the most credible voices are rarely the most followed
Longevity research is a small field. Mo Elzek, founder of the London Longevity Network, puts the global population of people actually doing the science at fewer than a thousand, and argues that a field that small does not generate enough disagreement to correct itself — a problem he describes as value locking, where an idea takes hold and successive cohorts follow it in the wrong direction. The practical consequence is that public attention concentrates on a handful of communicators while the evidence base is produced by several hundred people most readers could not name. Neither group is the enemy of the other. But if the question is whose claims to weight, the answer is not the one the follower counts suggest.
What makes a longevity voice credible?
Six things are worth checking, and all of them are checkable in a few minutes. Whether the person publishes peer-reviewed work, or only talks about other people’s. Whether the institutional affiliation they cite is current and verifiable on the institution’s own site. Whether their findings have been replicated by a group with no connection to them. Whether they sell the thing they recommend, and whether they say so unprompted. Whether they distinguish clearly between results in mice, in cell lines and in humans, which is the single most common place longevity claims break. And whether they have ever publicly changed their mind about something, which in a field this young is a stronger signal than consistency.
Who should you follow in longevity?
That is a different question with a different answer, and the difference matters. Four of the most widely followed voices in the field are absent from the list above — Peter Attia, Rhonda Patrick, Eric Topol and Aubrey de Grey — because none of them appears in the Unfiltered Longevity 100, which ranks power over the field rather than reach into the audience. Their absence here is a function of what this list measures, not a judgement on any of them. Who is the most credible voice in longevity?
There is no single one, and any list that names one is selling something. Of the 38 working scientists in the Unfiltered Longevity 100 for 2026, the highest-placed are George Church of Harvard and Rejuvenate Bio, Shinya Yamanaka of the Gladstone Institutes, whose Nobel-recognised work on cellular reprogramming underpins much of the current field, and Rick Klausner, chief scientist at Altos Labs. Are longevity influencers credible?
Some are, and the useful test is not whether they have an audience but whether their claims survive being checked against the primary literature. Three people in the Unfiltered Longevity 100 are categorised as influencers rather than scientists, founders, investors or executives, which is a reasonable indication of how small the genuinely influential communicator population is relative to the research population.
How many people work in longevity research?
Fewer than most people assume. Elzek’s estimate is under a thousand worldwide doing the actual science, which is the root of the echo-chamber problem in the field and the reason he argues it needs to be ten to a hundred times larger.
Is David Sinclair credible?
He is a tenured Harvard professor with a substantial peer-reviewed record, and he is also among the most commercially active and most publicly criticised scientists in the field. Both are true and neither settles the question. The honest position is to weight his published work on its own terms and to treat his commercial positions as commercial positions, which is the same standard that should apply to everyone on this list.
