Dr Vanessa Smer-Barreto is a researcher developing AI technologies for drug discovery. Following her PhD in Astronomy and two years working as a data analyst she switched to biomedicine after winning a cross-disciplinary post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Edinburgh.
